Seal<\/h3>\n<p>Lightly moisten the glue strip \u2014 a small amount of moisture, not a soaked line \u2014 and press it down from the filter end outward.<\/p>\n<h3>7. Pack and close<\/h3>\n<p>Tap the filter end gently on a surface to settle the flower. Pack the open end lightly with something thin, then twist the excess paper closed.<\/p>\n<h2>Common mistakes and how to fix them<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>It runs down one side.<\/strong> Uneven grind or uneven packing. Nothing to do mid-smoke except lick the fast-burning side lightly to slow it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It won&#8217;t draw.<\/strong> Overpacked or over-ground. Roll it gently between your fingers to loosen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It burns too fast and loose.<\/strong> Underpacked. Add a little more and repack next time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The paper tears.<\/strong> Too much moisture on the glue, or dry brittle flower. Papers also tear when the flower is over-dry \u2014 a humidity pack in your jar prevents this.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It goes out constantly.<\/strong> Usually flower that is too moist, or packed too tight at the tip.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Does the strain matter?<\/h2>\n<p>For rolling, texture matters more than strain type. Very fresh, slightly moist flower is harder to grind evenly and more likely to go out. Properly cured flower at 55-62% relative humidity rolls best.
