California Orange – A Balanced Hybrid for Maximum Effects
California Orange, Cali Orange or Cali OJ, is a hybrid cannabis strain that has been around since the early 1980s. This classic strain is known for its intense fruity, orange aroma and bright orange pistils or hairs. Locally grown Cali OJ typically has a THC level of between 15% to 23%.
California Orange is a balanced 50/50 hybrid and is a very potent strain that induces a focused and clear headed high with a deep sense of relaxation and happiness. This strain is often used to treat depression and stress. California Orange also produces dense, large flowers with a unique exotic look due to the meshing of the lush green buds and the fluorescent orange hairs. It is covered in a fair amount of sticky white trichomes.
Indica vs Sativa
When it comes to cannabis, there are three main types of strains: Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid. Though the effects of each strain are complex, there are some general differences between the three. Indica plants have shorter and bushier buds with longer and thinner leaves, and are associated with a body high, relaxation, appetite stimulation, sleep aid, and pain relief. Sativa plants, on the other hand, have taller and slimmer buds with shorter and wider leaves, and are associated with a head high, alertness, uplifting and euphoric feelings, creativity, and increased energy. Hybrid plants are the result of cross-breeding both an indica strain and a sativa strain together, and generally have a balanced mix of both indica and sativa effects.
