Canine CBD Oil 600mg — CBD formulated for dogs
Canine CBD Oil is a 600mg CBD tincture made for dogs, containing no meaningful THC so it is non-intoxicating and safe for pets when dosed appropriately. Commonly used for anxiety, joint stiffness and general comfort in older dogs. Same-day livraison across Toronto and the GTA from Tropic Exotic.
Why THC-free matters for pets
This is the single most important thing to understand about cannabis and animals: THC is toxic to dogs. Dogs have a far higher density of cannabinoid receptors in the brain than humans, so THC affects them much more severely — causing disorientation, loss of balance, incontinence, tremors and, in serious cases, requiring emergency veterinary care.
CBD is different. It’s non-intoxicating and generally well tolerated by dogs, which is why pet cannabinoid products are formulated to contain CBD with negligible THC. Never give a dog a human THC product, edible or flower.
What people use it for
Owners commonly reach for canine CBD oil for situational anxiety (thunderstorms, fireworks, travel, separation), joint stiffness and mobility in ageing dogs, and general restlessness. Evidence in veterinary medicine is still developing, though research on CBD for canine osteoarthritis has been encouraging. Treat it as a supportive supplement, not a substitute for veterinary treatment.
Dosing guidance
A widely used starting point is roughly 1–2mg of CBD per 10kg (22lb) of body weight, once or twice daily. Because the bottle contains 600mg total, check the concentration per millilitre on the label and measure with the dropper rather than estimating.
- Small dog (5kg): around 0.5–1mg to start
- Medium dog (15kg): around 1.5–3mg to start
- Large dog (30kg+): around 3–6mg to start
Start at the low end, hold that dose for about a week, and increase gradually only if needed. Effects are typically subtle and cumulative rather than immediate.
How to give it
Drop it directly into your dog’s mouth, or mix it into food or onto a treat — food is easier for most dogs and slightly slows absorption. Consistency at the same times each day works better than occasional use.
Important
Talk to your veterinarian before starting, especially if your dog takes other medication or has a health condition. This information is general and not veterinary advice. Store the bottle sealed, cool and out of reach of pets and children.
